Village Tavern 1st Anniversary Celebration
Recently, Village Tavern celebrated their first anniversary of operations here at the Philippines and I was lucky to have been invited to share that milestone. It was a casual dinner with fellow bloggers where Village Tavern, through their Head Chef Josh Boutwood, showcased their new menu items.
Allow me to show you what’s new at Village Tavern.
Village Tavern Crispy Clams with Spicy Lemon Dip – PHP 375
Crunchy niblets of baby clams served with our spicy lemon dip.
Move over popcorn as these baby clams are stealing the show! Each piece contains a baby clam coated with a delicious batter and can be further enhanced with the spicy dip. Whether you are starting a meal or are planning to watch a movie, these clams will keep you company.

Village Tavern Roasted Bone Marrow – PHP 295
Roasted bone marrow served with sourdough bread and apple cider vinegar dip
Sinful in the form of food; the roasted bone marrow will simply tickle your taste buds and leave you wanting more. Although it does lack flavor when eaten alone so you have to mix it all up to appreciate it more.
Village Tavern Fully Loaded Romaine Heart – PHP 425
Freshly cut romaine lettuce served with crispy bacon, red onions, tomatoes and topped with blue cheese dressing.
This has got to be the best salad I’ve ever tasted! Generous servings of bacon and blue cheese made this an instant hit on our table. The presentation of using one whole lettuce was also a unique idea.
Village Tavern Cod Fish – PHP 525
Pan seared Atlantic cod cooked with Spanish chorizo and garlic, served on a bed of salt roasted potato
Another dish that I liked but I can’t help wonder if the elasticity of the cod fish was normal? Aside from that the chorizo and garlic provided additional flavor to the fish.
Village Tavern Tomahawk – PHP 2895
Our steaks are aged, hand-cut and grilled to perfect temperature
The highlight of the night! Despite its size, the taste was similar to the usual grilled Angus steaks.
*I just wish we got better slices of the steak to appreciate it further*
Village Tavern Lamb Rack – PHP 675
Rosemary infused rack of lamb served with garden peas and mint
I’ve always been a fan of lamb (despite its unique smell) and this one was no exception. Now this is something I won’t mind grabbing it by the bone and let my teeth do the tearing.
Village Tavern Frozen Lime Soufflé – PHP 295
Light and airy lime infused frozen soufflé, garnished with candied lime and walnut powder
For the dessert, we had the frozen lime soufflé. I honestly didn’t know what to expect so I just scooped away. It was soft and creamy inside and the edges were like frozen ice. Still, it was refreshing to eat.
So these were my takes on their new dishes. So what do you think?
