TOSH Express by The Old Spagetti House

I was looking for a place to eat in Landmark Makati when I found the fast food version of “The Old Spagetti House” which their flyers call, Tosh Express. Since it was new, I was curious and tried it out.
Checking out their menu, I noticed that the prices were lower (range around PHP90.00-150.00) then their restaurant counterparts, more or less, the prices are still the same but they do offer them in two serving sizes where the large one has the same price as their restaurant prices. I guess they are trying to match the prices in a food court. However, I believe that this will also come at a price as the servings are not too generous and since it is “fast-food”, the flavor would be different. Let me test that by ordering something.
Pork Fillet with Mushroom Sauce + Garlic Spaghetti = PHP120
Well, this came out fast considering they still have to cook the pasta and the pork fillet. The first thing I noticed upon taking a bite is that, it is not hot anymore. Walking from the counter to the table took only around 7-10 steps and when I sat, I started to eat right away (just trying to be defensive as you might say that I let it cool first).
However, since I was so hungry, I let is pass and started eating which made me realized I picked the wrong entry to eat. The garlic spaghetti was very bland. I could taste a few garlic bits here and there but that’s all there is to it. It is like eating pasta without any flavor at all. The pork fillet was no better. It was only thanks to the mushroom sauce that I was able to finish everything as that was the one bring out the flavor. I did not get the satisfaction I usually get from eating out at TOSH but I’m not taking it against them as this was their fast food version so I really did not get my hopes up but I wished it could have been better.
Oh well, I guess it’s back to the original TOSH for me.
