Jollibee Champ Burger

Jollibee Champ Burger

Jollibee Champ

July 24, 2010

Next up in my burger lineup would be the entry from Jollibee with their Jollibee Champ burger. I used to see their commercials where we have a little burger, getting eaten by a bigger burger then finally getting eaten by the Champ Burger. They forgot one thing in that commercial and that is the person who is going to eat the champ burger. For today, allow it to be me

Here are some pics of the burger (costs PHP97 for burger alone and PHP 127 for the value meal)

First of all, I want to say that their box picture and their commercials of the champ is very misleading. When I first observed the Champ, I was wondering, where was that cheese that was in the picture that I had to go back to Jollibee and complain why there was no cheese on it. Apparently, the cheese in the Champ is just a tiny sheet of cheese that you had to open the burger just to see it (unlike in the pictures where the corners of the cheese slice can be seen even without touching the burger). I was really disappointed in that =(

Anyhow, the champ is composed of the following layers

  • Bun
  • Tomato with Ketchup
  • Cheese Strip
  • 1/3 Pound Patty (well, they did say it is a 1/3 pound burger patty)
  • Lettuce with Mayonaise
  • Bun

I don’t know with you but the Jollibee Champ is just a TLC burger with a bigger patty with a small cheese slice. However, don’t get me wrong (being all negative to start) because their burger is delicious simply because of their burger patty. This is the only advantage I can think of when I compare it to McDo’s Big Mac because of the taste of their patty. Too bad the other ingredients doesn’t help much on the flavor but I get the feeling that their focus would be on their burger patty because most of the time, that is the taste I can savor while eating the Jollibee Champ.

Be it their normal burger or their Jollibee Champ, it still leaves me wanting more of their burger patty so that’s a good sign but in the future, I’d like to stick with their double yum with cheese or if they still have it their Cheesy Bacon Mushroom. I’d rather eat that than Champ anytime.

Another step, to my Baconator quest! Next!

Till next time,

Allen
