Jipan Dinner
I’m a regular at Glorietta and would always pass by Jipan but I never paid attention to it. I was thinking that if they can’t get a proper location (customers are just sitting on the mall aisles), then probably they aren’t a good restaurant. My sister brought us to this place and my theory was put to test (and another ramen meal to add to that).
Jipan Miso Ramen – PHP 250
(ramen with special soup, marinated pork, vegetables and boiled egg)
Jipan Hamburg Steak – PHP 280
Jipan Chicken Teriyaki Bento Set – PHP 260
(Marinated Chicken, marinated cooked tuna, sweet egg, salad, rice, vegetable tempura, miso soup)
A great deal!
Jipan Wafu Shoyu Ramen – PHP 280
Jipan Kakiage Udon – PHP 200
(Noodle and soup with toppings of vegetable tempura, chicken, boiled egg, carrots)
Jipan Ebi Udon – PHP 240
(Noodle and soup with toppings of shrimp tempura and vegetables)
Jipan Seafood Rice – PHP 250
My theory was debunked. I was being too picky with its location that I never gave it a chance. They served great food and we enjoyed our dinner without having to spend a lot of money on it. A minor comment though on their menu, they do not specify what broth they will be using but only the ramen toppings.
On a side note, I’ve noticed that I’ve been ordering ramen on my recent visits to Japanese cuisine restaurants. It started with Sumo Sam where I had my first ramen. Kenji Tei was where we held our team dinner. Our dinner at Shinjuku was something decided while traveling. We also ate lunch at Ukokkei Ramen Ron (not yet posted yet) and lastly, here at Jipan. As I reviewed my orders, I found out that I’m more inclined to order miso broth and has lots of cha shu.
