Iloilo Food Trip
I just have around one week to stay in Iloilo so I would like to dedicate a lot of time eating as that’s an activity I missed doing here. This is also a way to tour Jessa around Iloilo and eat at the same time.
The Promenade @ Days Hotel Iloilo
(see my other post on Promenade)
This is first stop of my Iloilo Food Trip. We had a buffet dinner at the Promenade and aside from the lengua (ox tongue), a few roast beef slices and grilled fish selection, I was looking forward to their dessert selection which I believe was the highlight of their buffet. I must add that I like their food presentation.
Tatoy’s Manokan and Seafood
(see my other post on Tatoy’s)
Always a belly buster and one of my favorite places to eat in Iloilo. Their boneless bangus has been my favorite ever since and for today, we tried their liempo and it was surprisingly good! I went home with a bulging stomach as usual.
Bibingka
The 3rd on the list would be the Bibingka. We were at Jaro Cathedral when I spotted some street vendors selling it. Bibingka is a sweet snack made of coconut and it cost PHP20 for 6pcs. I missed this as the bibingka sold in Manila looks and tastes different.
Deco’s Lapaz Batchoy
After Jaro, we went to Lapaz and ate at Deco’s in Gaisano. We can proudly say that we have eaten the La Paz Batchoy because we were eating batchoy at La Paz District. I requested for an extra egg to be placed on the batchoy and it reduced the saltiness of the soup. Due to this, we enjoyed our batchoy meal with pandesal. Very yummy and stomach filling!
The batchoy would be the last stop of our Iloilo Food Trip… but only for this post as we have just started on our journey. Look out for my next post on Uncle Tom’s.
Till next time,
Allen
