Gerry’s Grill Lunch
Gerry’s Grill would be one of the restaurants that made my Manila Vacation trip (prior to college) delicious! I remember that we would travel to Tomas Morato just to have a taste of their Inihaw na pusit. Many years later, Gerry’s grill has expanded a lot and there’s even one branch near our office (Insular Life).
We happened to dine here one day and I was glad the dishes that made them famous … still makes them famous thanks to their consistent taste!
Gerry’s Grill Nilagang Bulalo
We started our meal with bulalo soup. A large chunk of beef sitting on top of cabbage (carefully hidden below). I blame this for making my stomach bulge throughout the afternoon! The beef was tender enough to slice with your spoon and the soup’s flavor was the usual taste but I just love bulalo.
Gerry’s Grill Chicken Kebab
Tender and juicy chicken grilled just about right.
Gerry’s Grill Beef Casserole
The menu describes this as perfect. I agree. If not for the other dishes, I’ll gladly finish one serving myself. However, the beef wasn’t as tender as I expected (some had a rubbery texture).
Gerry’s Grill Inihaw na Pusit
They can boldly say, this made us famous and why not? You would expect squid (especially grilled) to be dry, rubbery and hard to chew but not at Gerry’s. It was very tender for squid and the flavor just flows at every bite. Definitely a must order at Gerry’s Grill!
Gerry’s Grill Blue Marlin Steak
Now if we can only say the same for their Blue Marlin Steak. It wasn’t as juicy as we expected. It was a bit dry but nothing their own sauce can fix.
Now let us move on to the dessert!
Gerry’s Grill Vanilla Leche Flan
My least favorite among the three. This tasted more of a vanilla flavored gelatin than leche flan.
Gerry’s Grill Fruit Platter
Mangoes, Apples, Bananas and Papayas with Ice Cream sitting on the top. Yum yum!
Gerry’s Grill Toasted Ice Cream
So was this hot or cold? Well, it’s a mix of both because you have ice cream wrapped in a crepe that was fried. A new and unique offering by Gerry’s Grill!
We left Gerry’s Grill with a full stomach that would last the whole afternoon. I’ve known Gerry’s Grill for years but the delicious taste still remained.
Till next time,
