<p>Now that we have roamed around and saw what the buffet at Seasons, Manila Pavilion Hotel can offer, it’s time to settle down and eat.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-soup/" rel="attachment wp-att-2405"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2405" title="Seasons Buffet Soup" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Soup-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Soup" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>To start off, we have soup to warm our stomach.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Sushi.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2406" title="Seasons Buffet Sushi" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Sushi-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Sushi" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-appetizers/" rel="attachment wp-att-2407"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2407" title="Seasons Buffet Appetizers" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Appetizers-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Appetizers" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>…then we move on to have some sushi and finger food appetizers such the literal ham and cheese and some kebabs…</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-dishes/" rel="attachment wp-att-2408"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2408" title="Seasons Buffet Dishes" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Dishes-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Dishes" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>I saw a section of different dishes and I got one of each. (Grilled Salmon, Steamed Fish Fillet, Chicken, Beef and Sausage). Special mention here to their Grilled Salmon as they were able to remove that “salmon” smell. The beef was also tasty!</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-chinese-selections/" rel="attachment wp-att-2409"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2409" title="Seasons Buffet Chinese Selections" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Chinese-Selections-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Chinese Selections" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>Now, going to China Town, I got roasted chicken, <em>asado</em> and a few dumplings. I enjoyed all except the asado which left a bad taste in my mouth.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-pork-loin-and-dumplings/" rel="attachment wp-att-2410"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2410" title="Seasons Buffet Pork Loin and Dumplings" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Pork-Loin-and-Dumplings-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Pork Loin and Dumplings" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>I’m still sad that we didn’t have any roast beef so we had to settle with their pork loin with the special reappearance of siomai and calzone.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-liempo/" rel="attachment wp-att-2411"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2411" title="Seasons Buffet Liempo" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Liempo-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Liempo" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-lapulapu/" rel="attachment wp-att-2412"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2412" title="Seasons Buffet LapuLapu" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-LapuLapu-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet LapuLapu" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>As for the area where you can ask them to cook (<em>paluto</em>) for you, I requested for grilled <em>liempo</em> (that looks more like pork chop) and fried <em>lapu-lapu</em>. I had to return a lot just to follow-up on the fish and when I got it, it was very salty. On the other hand, the liempo tasted great without the need for condiments.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-fruit-salad/" rel="attachment wp-att-2413"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2413" title="Seasons Buffet Fruit Salad" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Fruit-Salad-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Fruit Salad" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-actual/seasons-buffet-crepe/" rel="attachment wp-att-2415"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2415" title="Seasons Buffet Crepe" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Crepe-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Crepe" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>For desserts, I loaded myself with lots of fruits (that induces <em>movement</em>), a taste of their dessert creations and their crepe. The crepe tasted more of pancakes due to the thickness of the crepe.</p>
<p>Overall, the buffet was ok as we did have a lot of selections from different cuisines. But somehow, without any roast beef, it felt lacking and seeing that they had more selections on others also affected our experience. But for the voucher price, I can say that the buffet at Seasons was already  a good deal.</p>
<p>Till next time,</p>

<p>Thanks to Ensogo; we were able to try out this deal.</p>
<p><em>Travel the world through food with an international buffet lunch or dinner for 1 at Seasons, Manila Pavilion Hotel (Valued at P1600)</em></p>
<p>Whenever I see a buffet on a group buying site, I have the sudden urge to buy it as it would be a great deal and so far, our buffet groupons have been a great buy. Let’s see how <em>seasons</em> at the Manila Pavillion would fare. When we arrived at Seasons, Manila Pavilion, the buffet hasn’t opened yet so we were just waiting outside and while waiting, I learned that they have different buffets depending on the day but I’m not sure if that would be covered by the voucher or not.</p>
<p>As we went inside, I roamed around to see what they have to offer. Each table has several dishes and I’ll try my best to remember what they had as going around in a buffet with an empty stomach was torture.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-grilled-selections/" rel="attachment wp-att-2393"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2393" title="Seasons Buffet Grilled Selections" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Grilled-Selections-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Grilled Selections" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>In the innermost part that’s already connected to the wall, you would see the <strong>cooking station</strong> where you can pick among chicken, pork and fish and have them fried or grilled. <strong>Tempura</strong> is available here but they just use shrimps and not prawns. For their meat carving section, we were offered <strong>pork loin</strong> (aww no roast beef or lamb?). Aside from that, you can also request for <strong>pizza</strong>, <strong>pasta</strong>, <strong>calzone</strong> and <strong>tacos</strong> in this area. Now let’s move to the next table.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-roast-section/" rel="attachment wp-att-2392"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2392" title="Seasons Buffet Roast Section" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Roast-Section-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Roast Section" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-noodles-section/" rel="attachment wp-att-2397"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2397" title="Seasons Buffet Noodles Section" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Noodles-Section-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Noodles Section" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-sashimi/" rel="attachment wp-att-2394"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2394" title="Seasons Buffet Sashimi" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Sashimi-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Sashimi" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-bread-and-dips/" rel="attachment wp-att-2396"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2396" title="Seasons Buffet Bread and Dips" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Bread-and-Dips-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Bread and Dips" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-appetizers-and-fruit-shots/" rel="attachment wp-att-2395"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2395" title="Seasons Buffet Appetizers and Fruit Shots" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Appetizers-and-Fruit-Shots-225x300.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Appetizers and Fruit Shots" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>In the next big table, we had more choices on appetizers. They had different kinds of <strong>cheese, bread and salad</strong> on one side and <strong>sashimi and maki choices</strong> on the other side. On another corner would be the roast section where you can have <strong>roasted chicken, <em>asado</em> pork</strong> and pair it with <strong>dim sum</strong> choices and <strong>create-your-own-noodles</strong>.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-watermelon-art/" rel="attachment wp-att-2398"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2398" title="Seasons Buffet Watermelon Art" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Watermelon-Art-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Watermelon Art" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-desserts/" rel="attachment wp-att-2399"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2399" title="Seasons Buffet Desserts" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Desserts-225x300.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Desserts" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>

<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-desserts-up-close-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-2401"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2401" title="Seasons Buffet Desserts Up Close 2" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Desserts-Up-Close-2-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Desserts Up Close 2" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/seasons-at-manila-pavilion-hotel-buffet-selections/seasons-buffet-desserts-up-close-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-2402"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2402" title="Seasons Buffet Desserts Up Close 3" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Seasons-Buffet-Desserts-Up-Close-3-300x225.jpg" alt="Seasons Buffet Desserts Up Close 3" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>As for the last big table, we have the desserts where you can have your fill of <strong>fruits</strong>, <strong>cakes and sweets</strong>, <em><strong>kakanin</strong></em>, <strong>crepes</strong> and <strong>donuts</strong>. I like staying in this area because I’m amazed at the artwork (see watermelon art). They simply looked too good to eat.</p>
<p>While writing this post, I checked out the other blogs and I found some dishes that weren’t available to us like roast beef and leg of lamb! No lechon too and there was only Tuna Sashimi. The only explanation I can think about now is that Seasons have a different menu on weekdays (us) vs. weekends (a blogger I asked).</p>
<p>Ignoring my previous statement, I can say that we were satisfied with our <strong><em>buffet at Seasons</em></strong>. The voucher price was just right and we were very full. I just want to mention that they do not put any labels on their dishes so leave it to your eyes and tongue to guess what you are eating. They do say that instead of names, they placed a picture of the animal that the dish came from but I didn’t notice that at all.</p>
<p>Don’t go just yet, I would still write about what we actually ate here in the next post.</p>
<p>Till next time,</p>

<p><span id="more-2385"></span></p>
<p>My Tokyo Café gift certificate was expiring and I needed a good place to eat so I brought Jessa to the nearest Tokyo Café location I can find, Go Hotels in Mandaluyong. If you are unfamiliar with Tokyo Café, well, the first thing that comes into mind would be crepes. The first time I dined at Tokyo Café was in their Mall of Asia branch and if you are a crepe lover, you would be sucked in the moment you come near their entrance. Besides their entrance would be a huge selection of crepes just waiting for you to order them.</p>
<p>So going back to Go Hotels… just a minor thing here, they wouldn’t allow you to use their elevator if you will not be staying at Go Hotels. They would make you walk outside then find your way to Tokyo Café and other restaurants. Well, cardio anyone? Anyway, let’s go with our orders.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/tokyo-caf-dinner/tokyo-cafe-demi-hamburg/" rel="attachment wp-att-2386"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2386" title="Tokyo Café Demi Hamburg" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Tokyo-Café-Demi-Hamburg--300x225.jpg" alt="Tokyo Café Demi Hamburg" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Café Demi Hamburg &#8211; PHP 188</strong></p>
<p><em>Hamburg steak in demi glace sauce</em></p>
<p>I hate to say this but this tasted very similar to Jollibee’s burger steak.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/tokyo-caf-dinner/tokyo-cafe-seafood-pizza/" rel="attachment wp-att-2388"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2388" title="Tokyo Café Seafood Pizza" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Tokyo-Café-Seafood-Pizza-300x225.jpg" alt="Tokyo Café Seafood Pizza" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Café Seafood Pizza &#8211; PHP 288</strong></p>
<p><em>Shrimp, Squid, kani Sticks, onions and Mozzarella topped with Japanese Mayonnaise</em></p>
<p>Thin-crust yum yum! I can really feel the <em>seafood-ness</em> of the pizza and they were very generous with the cheese. It wasn’t very oily and I was eating it like there’s no tomorrow. On this day, I learned how to fold the pizza to make it into a pizza sandwich but the disadvantage was I ran out of pizza to eat at a much faster rate.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Café Peach Mango Caramel &#8211; PHP 130</strong></p>
<p>A great way to end the meal. Their crepes never disappoint.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Thanks to Metrodeal; we were able to try this deal.</p>
<p><em>50% Off: P99 instead of P200 for a Box of 4 Assorted Heavenly Brazo de Mercedes Bars at Supreme Brazo Bars</em></p>
<p>Jessa bought this for me knowing that I’m a big fan of Brazo De Mercedes. I haven’t heard of these but after doing some research, I found out the the Supreme Brazo Bars by Ces Lopez has gotten a lot of praises from other food bloggers so that made me excited to try it out.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/supreme-brazo-bars-by-ces-lopez/supreme-brazo-bars-by-ces-lopez-1/" rel="attachment wp-att-2373"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2373" title="Supreme Brazo bars by Ces Lopez 1" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Supreme-Brazo-bars-by-Ces-Lopez-1-300x225.jpg" alt="Supreme Brazo bars by Ces Lopez 1" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>Yum Yum! is what I can say for my first bite. It looks like a sandwich where the custard filling is in between two meringue layers. It is also shaped like a loaf so I guess their inspiration was bread for the shape? I can’t help comparing it to the <a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/mini-brazo-de-mercedes-by-parvati/" target="_blank">Mini Brazo De Mercedes by Joy (@Parvati)</a> that I have also tried. The taste, sweetness and texture was very similar. However, the custard filling that would set it apart because it had different flavors on it.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/supreme-brazo-bars-by-ces-lopez/supreme-brazo-bars-by-ces-lopez-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-2374"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2374" title="Supreme Brazo bars by Ces Lopez 2" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Supreme-Brazo-bars-by-Ces-Lopez-2-300x225.jpg" alt="Supreme Brazo bars by Ces Lopez 2" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>So far in the two boxes I have ate, I noticed <em>macapuno</em> and different kinds of nuts (based on crunchiness). It was certainly something new for me as I was used to having it melt in my mouth while I squirm in the air like Scooby Doo after eating a Scooby snack. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed every piece of it! I wonder how do they differentiate between flavors? Here’s the complete list (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.ourawesomeplanet.com/awesome/2009/09/supreme-brazo-bars-by-ces-lopez-cafe.html" target="_blank">from OAP</a>).</p>

<p><span id="more-2364"></span></p>
<p>Pat-Pat’s Kansi has been on my list of restaurants to try out after hearing that they have bulalo and they are near my place. The bulalo they serve is a bit different due to the taste of the soup which is sour. Think of it as <em>bulalo</em> ingredients in a <em>sinigang</em> soup, two of my favorite soups in one dish.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/pat-pats-kansi/pat-pats-kansi-utensil/" rel="attachment wp-att-2369"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2369" title="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Utensil" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Pat-Pat’s-Kansi-Utensil-300x225.jpg" alt="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Utensil" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>They offer two kinds of bulalo, the one with the bone (Php145) and all meat (PHP135) version. Since this was my first time here, I opted for the one with the bone to complete the experience. After we ordered, we were given the utensils with a stick and a knife which will be used to dig into the bone to get the bone marrow.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/pat-pats-kansi/pat-pats-kansi-bulalo/" rel="attachment wp-att-2368"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2368" title="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Bulalo" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Pat-Pat’s-Kansi-Bulalo-300x225.jpg" alt="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Bulalo" width="300" height="225" /></a> <a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/pat-pats-kansi/pat-pats-kansi-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-2366"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2366" title="Pat-Pat’s Kansi 2" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Pat-Pat’s-Kansi-2-300x225.jpg" alt="Pat-Pat’s Kansi 2" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Pat-Pat’s Kansi Bulalo &#8211; PHP145</strong></p>
<p>When this was placed on our table, I was very amazed and excited of the size of the bone and the amount of <em>unhealthy</em> goodness it contains. It has a few chunks of meat in the soup and lots of ligaments hanging on the bone but the main part would be the bone marrow inside the bone waiting to be harvested.</p>
<p>What I did was to mix the bone marrow with soup and my rice and in a few seconds later, I was requesting for extra rice. I didn’t realize that I ate that fast till I checked my plate.</p>
<p><a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/pat-pats-kansi/pat-pats-kansi-boneless-bangus/" rel="attachment wp-att-2367"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2367" title="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Boneless Bangus" src="http://food.silkenhut.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Pat-Pat’s-Kansi-Boneless-Bangus-300x225.jpg" alt="Pat-Pat’s Kansi Boneless Bangus" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Boneless Bangus &#8211; PHP180</strong></p>
<p>We underestimated their bulalo so we ordered this dish as an alternative. It turns out that we didn’t need this one and had to take it out.</p>
<p>I would definitely return here for more bulalo goodness but I’ll opt for the all meat version next as I already had my fill of bone marrow (got a headache about eating).</p>
<p>Till next time,</p>

<p>After trying out a <a href="http://food.silkenhut.com/min-sok-restaurant-lunch/" target="_blank">Korean Restaurant (Min Sok)</a> before, I suggested that our family dine in a Japanese Restaurant this time. Since this was just a spur of a moment decision while already travelling, I wasn’t able to do any research so we just went to Little Tokyo along Pasong Tamo and pointed at the first restaurant we saw, <em>Shinjuku Ramen House</em>.</p>

<p>The ramen was good in Shinjuku (well, they have to be since it’s a ramen shop) but their other dishes lacked in servings badly. We weren’t able to order their gyoza because I was hesitant on the price/servings however, that might have been a loss because it is one of their best sellers (so I have read). In case we come back here the next time, we would just order ramen and avoid their other dishes.</p>
<p>Till next time,</p>
