Cabalen Buffet Lunch at Glorietta
Jessa and I usually eat at a buffet when it is the first day of the month to celebrate our Monthsary. For the month of July, we ate at Cabalen restaurant located at Glorietta 3. Cabalen is a buffet that specializes in Filipino Cuisine with a few selections of Japanese food like Maki. I wasn’t able to take pictures of their selections so I’ll just be posting the actual food that we ate.
First, let us start with the Japanese selections with Maki and Tempura.
They have tasty crispy kangkong that goes well with the sauce.
Lechon Sisig
Tofu Sisig
Cabalen Sisig
They have three sisig dishes available. They are made to order.
Grilled Hito (Catfish) – I never miss this every time I see it in a buffet and I made sure I got a lot.
BBQ Chicken and Bangus (Milkfish)
Arroz ala Cubana – Another personal favorite of mine. It came in late while we were almost finished with lunch but I still made room for a serving or two.
Here were the other dishes that were available.
For a price of PHP 468 per person, we had a filling meal at Cabalen but for that price, we would have wanted more dishes. We do have a lot of Filipino dishes and I’m surprised that there were missing the national dish of the Philippines! Where’s the Adobo? and for soups, they only had corn soup and bulalo. Where’s the sinigang and tinola? Also, they need to improve their service. They were slow in doing refills and several follow-ups need to be done for them to do that. I even had to wait and stand for more than 10 minutes, follow-up with several waiters for the refill of leche flan and in the end, they would tell me that it is out of stock.

wow may maki na pala sa cabalen
hahaha oo, recently lang sila nag sama ng mga japanese dishes sa menu nila. pero limited sobra.
I think that Cabalen isn’t as good as it used to be. The price is reasonable but the food selection is not that big
