Best Food Forward 2012
Jessa won some tickets to the Best Food Forward event and that would start our food trip date. Air Philippines attempted to sabotage our date with a delayed flight but we still managed to get there an hour and a half before the event closes at 8pm. We started by going around and getting a few taste tests. Here’s a few that we liked but they never made it home except for the green tea.
Crunchy Belly by Carlo’s Kitchen
Bacon anyone?
Green Tea by Roots and Herbs
Yum yum! It was sweet and reminds Jessa of the citrus tea we had in Korea last year.
Butter Beer by Curly Pepita’s
Another sweet drink! The taste was similar to sugar cane.
Spinach Quiche by Simply Pie!
If that small free taste piece was already very yummy, what more for the whole piece?
and here’s our set meal for the night.
Sushi Set by Lu Chi Authentic Dim sum House
Churros by Señor Churritos
Had two variants, original and cinnamon. You can eat the cinnamon on it’s own but for the original tastes better with the chocolate dip that’s neither too sweet or bitter.
Smoked Ribs by BIG Daddy Jay’s All-American BBQ
It only took one free taste and it magically followed us home. Our favorite of the night.
Bacon Deep Dish Pizza by Chicago Best Deep Dish Pizza
It looks similar to Sbarro’s deep dish but it lacked on the cheese and the stuffing.
Char Grilled Burger by Burger Cartel
Two big fresh-off-the-grill patty where every bite was beefy. I would have praised it more if they didn’t took very long to cook.
Chocolate Leche Flan by Sweet Vanilla
It had the texture of leche flan but tastes more of choco-gelatin or pudding.
Cream Puffs by Chewy Junior
Haven’t tried this yet… (to follow)
Panacotta by Kenacotta
Yum! I have tried one and this was a good melts-in-your-mouth ending to our heavy meal.
There were a lot of more food that was waiting to be eaten by us but sadly, we can only take in so much. We will just join in again on any food fair or visit some of the night markets.
