Appetite’s Restaurant Festival 2011 Menu – Part 2
Part two of my series of post that will showcase to you the different Appetite menus that have been prepared by the thirteen participants of Appetite’s Restaurant Festival 2011.

Sing Hainanese Chicken House Menu
- Vegetables with Oyster Sauce
- Fish Cakes
- Hainanese Rice
- Coco Pandan
The Hainanese chicken was nothing special but there was something in me that wanted to go back and eat more of it. The fish cakes were good that every time I pass by their booth, I would take one secretly. The Coco pandan was similar to buko pandan but they used nata de coco like solids instead. The vegetables… umm next please
Secret Recipe Menu
- Minestrone Soup
- Tom Yum Spaghetti
- Black Pepper Chicken
- Chocolate Indulgence Cake
- A slice of Chocolate Fudge
The menu from Secret Recipe would be a great afternoon snack where you can just enjoy the pasta and the chicken and after that, dive into their chocolate cake. Their soup reminds me of tomatoes. It’s like sipping crushed tomatoes. The pasta was normal and as for the chicken, the taste was overpowered by the pepper sauce.
Pho Hoa Noodle Soup Menu
- Fresh Spring Rolls
- Com Thit Nuong Cha Guio (Grilled Pork and Fried Spring Rolls with Rice)
- Mango Crepe with Ice Cream
Their menu would be good for an afternoon snack where you can nibble on them while you chat with friends. The grilled pork was normal but it would have been better if they provided a spicy sauce to go with it. The mangoes used in the crepe were not that sweet so I’m glad there was ice cream.
Crustacia Asian Bistro Menu
- The Grand Javanese Sampler
- Steamed Fish FIllets with Black Bean Tapenade
- Hunan Cumin Ribs
- Indonesian Banana and Caramel Crepes
I wasn’t able to try much in here as I wasn’t that adventurous to try out the dishes that didn’t look familiar to me (my miss). I only got to try a sample of the Grand Javenese where it had shrimp inside then wrapped with batter than had corn.
So that’s it for this post where four of the thirteen got posted. These are Sing Hainanese Chicken House, Secret Recipe, Pho Noa Noodle Soup, Crustacia Asian Bistro.
Please don’t go away and watch out for Part 3 coming soon.
Till next time,
Allen
